Track Payment History

Always show cumulative payments received. Clients and accountants need to see the running balance, not just the current installment.

Installment Invoice Numbering

Use related numbers: INV-042-1 (deposit), INV-042-2 (milestone), INV-042-3 (final). Links all payments to one project.

Late Fees on Partial Payments

Apply late fees only to the overdue installment, not the full project total. Be explicit about which portion is past due.
